The practice

Our dental practice has been locally based, close to Basel, for many years. Given the very large choice of treatments currently available, our priority is to identify the solution best suited to our patients.

The concept

Combining dental aesthetics and chewing function to optimum effect is the goal of each treatment, thereby preserving the long-term health of your teeth. In complex cases, we work together with noted oral surgeons. On completion of treatment, all patients are advised to return for a yearly check-up and removal of dental plaque.

Why periodontology

Why periodontology?

Dental crowns can be damaged by incorrect oral hygiene.Tooth decay is certainly the most frequent and well-known defect. We use tooth-coloured plastics without bisphenol or various dental ceramics to restore dental crowns. We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the two materials with the patients as there are significant differences with regard to durability and costs.

Tooth preservation

Dental crowns can be damaged by incorrect oral hygiene.Tooth decay is certainly the most frequent and well-known defect. We use tooth-coloured plastics without bisphenol or various dental ceramics to restore dental crowns. We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the two materials with the patients as there are significant differences with regard to durability and costs.

Root canal treatment becomes necessary when the tooth decay is advanced and the patient feels pain when eating or drinking.

Prosthetics

Prosthetics

For patients who have teeth missing or no teeth at all, we take advantage of the options of prosthetics. We make the required dental prosthesis, which can be either permanent or removable, in collaboration with our dental technician. Thanks to dental implants, removable prosthetics can also be anchored stably. Comfort and aesthetics are the priority here.

Surgery

Surgery

Wisdom tooth removal is the classic dental surgery procedure. However, not every wisdom tooth has to be removed. It makes sense to have a radiological examinationbetween the ages of 20 and 25. If removal is indicated, we recommend having the surgery as early as possible as the rate of complications increases with age.

Why dental implants?

Everyone is talking about dental implants and rightly so. But good dentistry is about far more. Preserving teeth is always the main objective. Dental implants make sense when there are no alternatives, or where the alternative available are not optimal.

We utilise 3D X-rays and virtual planning to minimise the risks associated with the interventions. A successful outcome requires the patient’s cooperation. The patient’s own teeth first need to be restored and any active periodontitis treated. We advise against implants for those who smoke more than 10 cigarettes per day and patients aged under 30.
